Humans of Our Planet: Dr. Annahita

Are you ready to explore the mysteries of the human mind in space without all the rocket fuel?

Then watch this HOOP (Humans of Our Planet), Space for Humanity’s monthly Instagram Live series, where we chat with amazing people who are making a difference in our world and beyond.

This month, we’re thrilled to have Dr. Annahita Nezami, a leading psychologist and a lecturer at Kepler Space Institute. She is also the brains behind EarthscapeVR, a virtual reality project that recreates the Earth gazing experience (The Overview Effect) for astronauts and non-astronauts alike.

Dr. Nezami has been involved in several space-related research and education initiatives, such as the Space Education Summit, the Space Psychology Summit, and the Explore Mars project. She is passionate about sharing the psychological benefits of space exploration for humanity and the planet.

Dr. Nezami has also co-authored several books with Frank White, including one that will be released in 2024 entitled, “Made of Star Stuff: Overview Effect Therapy In The Digital Age,” which delves deeper into the psychological aspects of the Overview Effect.

Dr. Nezami joins Executive Director Rachel Lyons for a captivating conversation about her journey into space psychology, her findings from EarthscapeVR, and her vision for the future of humanity in space.
