Brandon Fibbs
Director of Communications
Brandon Fibbs is a Portland-based communications expert with deep and diverse experience. Before joining Space for Humanity as Director of Communications, he spent nearly 20 years as a writer, producer, and director on Emmy-winning television documentaries, including FOX’s "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey," National Geographic’s "The Story of God with Morgan Freeman," the Discovery Channel’s "Expedition Unknown," "Tales from the Explorers Club," and "Naked and Afraid XL," the Science Channel’s "Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman" and "Man vs. the Universe," as well as podcasts like iHeartRadio’s "9 Days in July" (covering each day of the historic Apollo 11 mission), HBO Max’s "The Staircase," the award-winning Audible series "American Football: How the Gridiron Was Forged" and "Bitter Blood: Murdoch v. Murdoch," and his own artisanal history/science series, "Wikisurfer." His daily science and history TikTok channel, @StayCuriousMyFriends, boasts nearly 360,000 followers and tens of millions of views.
Before his career in entertainment, Brandon worked as a journalist and syndicated film critic, as well as a technical writer for public relations firms, media organizations, and the U.S. government. He even once called the cockpit of an S-3 Viking — a naval sub-hunting aircraft — his office. Brandon holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Colorado and an MA in Cinema Studies from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
If Brandon could travel back in time to tell his younger self what would set his soul on fire as an adult, he might have pursued a career in science or history. Today, he does the next best thing — uncovering the most flabbergasting stories and sharing them with a world hungry for narratives about awe and exploration, unlocking the secrets of the universe, and the human adventure.
