Vice Chair of the Board of Space for Humanity

Claudia Welss is a pioneer in the field of subtle activism and bridging practical consciousness research with social and technological innovations to accelerate humanity's evolution.  She’s Chairman of the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), a scientific research center and experiential discovery lab founded by Apollo 14 astronaut and 6th man to walk on the moon Capt. Edgar Mitchell, and is on the boards of HeartMath Institute's Global Coherence Initiative and Space for Humanity. She's Founding Chair of Invest in Yourself Working Group at Nexus Global, focusing on the critical relationship between personal and planetary transformation within a community of philanthropists, impact investors, social entrepreneurs and activists across sectors focused on world change.  She's also co-founder of the Global Coherence PULSE, a social collaboration in collective coherence backed by a scientific collaboration for measuring personal, social and planetary energetic coherence.

Claudia was part of the launch of the 100-Year Starship Study on 1-11-11 with Peter Diamandis (XPRIZE), Pete Worden (NASA) and Mae Jemison due to her work with both IONS and The Foundation for Conscious Evolution.  She contributes to a UN Braintrust on space and the UN SDGs, and is an executive producer of the upcoming film The Space Less Traveled (2021) and the Edgar Mitchell Virtual Reality Experience (July 2020).  Her essay, “Humanity’s Change of Heart” appears in the anthology Our Moment of Choice:  Evolutionary Visions and Hope for the Future (Simon & Schuster, September 2020).

As a citizen scientist, social entrepreneur and funder, Claudia advises projects with the potential to accelerate large-scale change, including by pioneering the concept of collaboration labs as founder of NextNow Collaboratory, once described by the director of MIT’s Center for Collective Intelligence as a “new kind of collective intelligence.” Previously, Claudia was director of the University of California, Berkeley Haas School‘s center for executive development, responsible for designing and delivering strategic learning programs for global corporations while catalyzing the development of new social responsibility and sustainability curriculum. This experience led her to explore consciousness as the most powerful leverage point for inspiring regenerative culture.
