Introducing S4H’s New Board Members: Howard Roth & Amaresh Kollipara
Today, Space for Humanity is proud to announce Howard Roth and Amaresh Kollipara will join the organization’s Board of Directors.
Roth currently serves as the Chairman of the Audit Committee and member of the Nominating and Governance Committee of Lexington Realty Trust (NYSE: LXP). He also serves as the managing member of Fountain Private Opportunities, a boutique venture capital firm and is a Board Advisor to Voyager Space Holdings, Wealthspring Capital, The BlackChamber Group and Hodes Weill & Associates. Mr. Roth is the former global leader of Ernst & Young’s (EY) real estate, hospitality and construction practice, a position he held for 10 years before his retirement in June, 2017. He was a member of EY’s Global Practice Group, the 125 senior leaders of the firm’s global partnership.
“Given the significant new collaborations between the private sector and governments, I feel this is a particularly exciting and purposeful time to be involved with the space industry,” said Roth. “These public/private partnerships are greatly accelerating both commercial and humanitarian efforts benefiting our society. I am both proud and honored to be selected to serve on the Board of Directors of Space for Humanity, and am dedicated to their efforts to expand access, education, and outreach to the global population.”
Amaresh Kollipara is an Emmy-nominated VR producer and space industry executive. He led a project at Facebook's VR company, Oculus, called Mission:ISS, which was conducted in collaboration with NASA and is a true-to-life VR simulation of the ISS. Previously, he was a founder and managing partner of Earth2Orbit, a satellite industry advisory firm that helped spearhead the launch of commercial satellites out of India. Kollipara has worked as a strategic consultant to new space companies and advised firms including Skybox Imaging and Space Adventures. As the Chief Revenue Officer of OffWorld, Amaresh is currently focused on creating markets for an autonomous robotic workforce beginning with large-scale deployments around the world, with eventual applications in space.
In addition to S4H, Kollipara serves on the Board of the SETI Institute and was a Principal of the Space Angels Network, a professionally managed global network of investors.
“Space for Humanity is the only major organization devoted to promoting global interconnectedness by democratizing space access and I am honored to be joining the board,” said Kollipara. “The Overview Effect is a powerful catalyst and I look forward to working with the team to ensure more humans experience it.”
“We are thrilled to have both Howard and Amaresh join our Board of Directors,” said Rachel Lyons, Executive Director of Space for Humanity. “Having a diverse group of advisors is critical to the success of our organization and I am looking forward to working more closely with both of our new members as we continue making progress on our mission to make space more accessible.”
