A Message from Executive Director, Rachel Lyons
Dear Space for Humanity Friends and Family,
It is with inspiration and excitement that I write to let you know we are recruiting our next Executive Director for Space for Humanity, and I will be advancing into a new leadership role as a member of the Space for Humanity Board of Directors.
It has been an incredible nearly seven years of leading on the ground level of this important mission, and five years since I began my role as the Executive Director and first full-time employee.
We’ve accomplished so much together. It’s been incredible to build alongside our team, and amazing to witness the impact: two citizen astronauts to space, and the support of a third. Spaceflight partnerships across the sector. Some of the most generous and visionary board members, advisors, and donors in the industry. And, touching the lives of millions — spotlighting the grand perspective of our Earth, floating in space. The true majesty of this planet, and the miracle it is to be here, alongside our fellow humans.
There are already a number of people who have reached out and expressed interest about fulfilling the role of Executive Director — the board and I thank you for your passion for our mission. If you are interested in learning more about the role and applying, you can see the listing here.
I look forward to mentoring whoever the talented and inspired individual is that will be stepping into this vital role, supporting in the best ways I can. I will continue serving as Executive Director until that individual arrives. We look forward to your arrival!
As I continue to expand my efforts to serve this mission, I’ll be dedicating much of my time to coaching leaders and influencers in the greater space community, as well as individuals working to create systems level shifts. I’m grateful to be able to carry forward the Overview Perspective I’ve gained here at S4H.
I am inspired by what’s to come — for the organization, for the sector, and for those who are committed to this important, shared mission. Thank you so much for all the support you’ve provided me and the organization over all these years. I’m excited to serve the mission in this new role!
