We collaborate with future ambassadors on ways they can use their unique passions and expertise to make more people aware of the work we do.

Amanda Nguyen

Blue Origin

Amanda Nguyen is a visionary civil rights activist and the founder of Rise, a groundbreaking organization dedicated to advocating for the rights of sexual assault survivors. Her relentless efforts led to the unanimous passage of the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Rights Act in the United States, a historic achievement that has inspired similar legislation worldwide. Amanda’s advocacy has earned her numerous accolades, including a Nobel Peace Prize nomination, being named one of Time’s Women of the Year in 2022, and recognition as a Top 100 Global Thinker by Foreign Policy.

Amanda is set to make history as the first Vietnamese woman to fly to space, aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard Rocket is a testament to her unyielding spirit and commitment to opening doors and breaking barriers. Amanda serves as an Overview Ambassador, where she will share the profound experience of the Overview Effect to foster a deeper connection to our planet and promote the vision of making space accessible to all.

Her journey to space is not just a personal milestone but a powerful symbol of resilience, hope, and the boundless possibilities that lie ahead when passion and purpose align.

Ed Dwight

Blue Origin

Flight: NS-25

Ed Dwight, a trailblazing figure in the history of space exploration, has finally realized his dream of spaceflight at the age of 90, thanks, in part to Space for Humanity’s sponsorship. As the first Black astronaut candidate selected by President John F. Kennedy in 1961, Ed’s journey has been one of perseverance and inspiration. Now, as a Space for Humanity Overview Ambassador, Ed continues to inspire future generations by sharing his experiences and advocating for increased access to space for all. His recent flight on Blue Origin’s NS-25 mission not only marks a significant personal milestone but also exemplifies Space for Humanity’s mission to democratize space travel and foster a global perspective on our place in the cosmos.

Eiman Jahangir

Blue Origin

Flight: NS-26

Dr. Eiman Jahangir is MoonDao’s second astronaut, flying aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard Rocket for their NS-26 mission. A distinguished cardiologist and Associate Professor of Medicine and Radiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Dr. Jahangir has dedicated his career to treating patients with heart disease and educating future physicians. His passion for exploration and lifelong dream of space travel will soon be realized as he embarks on this groundbreaking journey.

In addition to his medical achievements, Dr. Jahangir has served as the medical officer for the first analog astronaut mission at the Space Analog for the Moon and Mars (SAM) at Biosphere 2. His commitment to advancing space exploration and inclusivity aligns perfectly with his new role as a Space for Humanity Overview Ambassador. In this capacity, he will help spread the transformative experience of the Overview Effect, fostering a deeper connection to our planet and promoting the vision of making space accessible to all.

Emily Calandrelli

Blue Origin

Flight: NS-28

Emily Calandrelli, known as “The Space Gal,” is a renowned science communicator and advocate, celebrated for her Emmy-nominated Netflix series “Emily’s Wonder Lab.” With a background in mechanical and aerospace engineering from West Virginia University and a master’s degree from MIT, Emily has dedicated her career to making science accessible and exciting for the next generation.

Emily made history as the 100th woman and the first woman from West Virginia to fly to space, aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard Rocket NS-28.

Emily proudly serves as a Citizen Astronaut Program (CAP) Overview Ambassador for the organization. In this role, she shares the profound experience of the Overview Effect with her young audience who may themselves, one day follow in her footsteps.
