C-MIST Researcher Application

Our goal is to perform a comprehensive patient-centred review of common medical conditions and the risks associated with suborbital flight and short duration exposure to microgravity. Our intention is to improve civilian knowledge and awareness, and to support international civilian access to space flight opportunities and commercial space program inclusivity. 

C-MIST is a 2-3 year project. Individual researchers are required to commit to an initial 3-month term which may be extended by mutual agreement.

Recruitment is now open. We encourage applicants from regions without local space medicine opportunities.


Application Criteria

  • A medical doctor, plus at least 2-3 years of clinical experience

  • Knowledge of aerospace medicine. Objective evidence is required (certificates, diplomas) of Space Medicine knowledge. Must be able to apply knowledge.

  • Research skills. Working knowledge of scientific principles, referencing, research design, and research protocols. Previous research experience as 1st author.

  • English. Outstanding written and verbal communication in English (English 1st language preferred).

  • Writing ability. Experience developing patient information leaflets, procedural documents, research reports.

  • Self-starter. Ability to work independently and unsupervised. Meet deadlines without reminders. Flexible and adaptable to schedule changes.

  • Software. Proficient with Microsoft 365, Google workspace, Slack, and citation software

  • Masters/PhD. Desired but not required
