The Virgin Galactic winner is here!

Omaze and Virgin Galactic Announce Winner of Spaceflight Experience

We are excited to announce that Keisha Schahaff of Antigua is the winner of an incredible trip to space aboard a Virgin Galactic flight and is Space For Humanity’s first citizen to join our Citizen Astronaut Program.

Sir Richard Branson, Matt Pohlson, CEO and co-founder of Omaze, and Rachel Lyons, executive director of Space For Humanity, surprised Keisha at her home in Antigua to share the news that she would be fulfilling her dream of traveling to space. She will be bringing her daughter, an astrophysics student, as her guest on this incredible journey.

“I’ve always had a lifelong love of flying and a fascination with space, and this is truly a dream come true for me,” said Keisha Schahaff. “It means the world to me that I’m sharing this experience with my daughter and am hopeful that together we can inspire the next generation to follow their dreams.”

We are honored to welcome Kiesha to the Space for Humanity family. She truly represents the spirit of the Overview Perspective. We can’t wait to welcome her back to Earth and hear about her experience!

We are also excited to announce that the Omaze sweepstakes raised a projected $1.7 million to support our world-changing mission. This is transformational for Space for Humanity, allowing us to fund the development and launch of our Citizen Astronaut Program and other important programs like our Inclusion Council and online educational efforts.

The perspective that is gained by astronauts, that we live on a floating, interconnected, fragile planet, is invaluable in the quest to solve humanity’s greatest challenges. We believe that by giving people from all over the world access to this transformational experience, we can renew our relationship with each other and our planet.

Thank you Virgin Galactic, Omaze, and everyone who participated. These funds will allow us to greatly advance our efforts during a truly pivotal moment in human spaceflight and exploration.

Apply to our Humanity-1 Mission Today. Applications close February 15.
